Dear Tenant,

Due to Provincially mandated lockdown as a result of Covid-19, effective December 26, 2020, Barrie Housing will be discontinuing all nonessential services until January 25, 2021. If this timeline is extended, notices will be posted in common areas and our website at prior to the date. We have also provided information resources on our website for you to access.

Please see below for changes to our day to day service.

During this time, our head office will be open for appointments only, however all other offices within the portfolio will be closed. If you usually pay your rent in person, we offer a variety of alternate options.

1. Online – you will require an account number – please contact 705-727-1101 extension 231 if you do not have an account number and one will be provided to you.

2. Mail – cheques and money orders can be mailed. Please do not mail cash. Please note Barrie Housing is not responsible for any rent sent through the mail. If possible, please take a copy of any money orders or cheques you send through the mail.

3. Leaving cheques and money orders in the drop boxes at your locations. Please do not leave cash in drop boxes.

During this time, you are still expected to pay your rent on the 1st of the month.

All maintenance work orders that are non-essential and non-emergency will be put on hold until January 25, 2021. Staff and contractors will only be entering units to complete emergency work orders and prior to the visit, we will be asking some pre-screening questions to determine safety.

For any other issues you may have, please contact your Tenant Services Workers. If you do not know who your Tenant Services Worker is, please go to and select your building under the “contact” tab.

If you are self-isolating, please advise us by calling 705-727-1101 extension 231 or email us at This will allow us to take appropriate safety measures and connect you to any needed supports.

We also ask that during this time, that you are considerate of our communities and please wear a mask at all times, do not loiter in common areas such as lobbies and maintain social distancing. We all have to do our part in ensuring the safety and health of ourselves and our neighbours.
